Penn 704/706 Z. . ?
I'm getting ready to buy a Penn Spinfisher 704z or a 706z and I need to know what all the hype is about. I have a 4500 and 5500ss and they work well but I think i need a bigger, more depandable reel. I'm not a huge fan of the new 750 and 850ssm.. which is why i'm leaning towards the old spinfishers.
Any information or tips supporting or arguing the issue are appreciated.

Penn was sold to another company. All of the good old reel makers have been sold to companies that do not have the same quality products that the original company`s did. If you look on the auction sites you will see reels that are of a fairly recent vintage selling for much more than you would expect. The reasons for this is they are not making them like they used to.
Most reels are now being made in China.
Go for the Spinfishers and also for the older ABU Garcia`s.
